Dear Leopard Ballet Flats,
What would I do without you? I don’t think there has ever been a more perfect union before I met you. I don’t think I could function without you in my life. What neutral like you made an outfit more stylish… what accessorized a pop of color better then you… nothing – nothing I tell you! Just seeing you paired with orange or pink makes me all tingly inside! I love you Leopard Ballet Flats… I LOVE YOU!

Dear No Manners,
Perhaps you should put your tacky ways to better use. Maybe a hammer and some thumb tacks will get that aggression out and be put your energies elsewhere. I’ve gathered some inspiration for you… so get to work.

Dear Muffin Top,
Sometimes fashion just happens to work in our favor… and I do believe peplums are an answer to our prayers. The perfect antidote for creating an illusion of a tiny waist and luscious hips… and a bit of concealing to hide some unsightly bulge… thanks designers… For once you are seeing things my way. Now can we talk about the whole plumbers crack problem?!

Dear Eggs,
I have to say, I’ve never really have been a fan. Of course, I don’t mind you when you are mixed in a cake or some fabulousness of a dessert… but as far as eating you straight up, scrambled – fried – poached… I’ll pass. You see, I’m a texture person and frankly, you freak me out. So this time of year is “egg”specially wonderful for me since I can make you in many forms – all of which I find “egg”xtra yummy!

Dear Skinny Colored Jeans,
Please be kind to me. I’ve purchased a few of you and have begun looking for some inspiration of different ways to wear you. The thing is… after having a baby 7 weeks ago, the confidence in the whole body area is down… I mean waaaayyyyyy down. But you make me so happy… all bright and cheery… so here’s the thing… be kind and make me look skinny!

Dear Piper,
Welcome Home! Mommy has been dreaming of your nursery ever since the little plus sign appeared in my hands. Sweet, soft and soothing was mommy’s wish… a place where Daddy and I could cuddle you with Maggie at our feet… reading sweet stories and singing lullabies. Quickly a color of pallet of white and grey with touches of gold began to emerge with visions of baby animals watching over you as you dream. I hope you love it as much as I do my sweet girl.
THE DETAILS
Crib and Dresser: The New Traditionalist (tons of finishes to mix and match… we chose weathered maple and white)
Bookshelf: Serena & Lily (we had it custom painted to match the white of the furniture)
Glider: Restoration Hardware Baby & Child (there are so many shades of white, never knew how hard it would be to find a pure white fabric)
Bedding: Pom Pom at Home
Artwork: The Animal Print Shop
Drapery & Rods: Restoration Hardware
Owl Lamp: West Elm
Side Table: West Elm
Chandelier: Horchow
Giraffe Head: Z Gallerie

Dear Everyone,
Wondering where I have been the last 6.5 weeks? Well, I’ve had a wonderful excuse to be absent… the birth of our little girl, Miss RPS, otherwise known as Piper Harrington! Born February 8th at 10:27 p.m., 6 pounds 2 ounces, 18.5 inches. She is the light of our life and the hubby and I have been completely infatuated. It’s amazing how long you can stare at another human being… we just can’t believe we made something so sweet and perfect.
I’m back to work this week (Piper in tow), which means back to blogging and all things paper. So today, I’d like to introduce you to the newest addition of our happy family! Be sure to check in tomorrow… I’ll be posting pictures of the nursery!

Dear Regret,
Why when we built our house 8 years ago did I not think of putting sliding barn doors in. Sure, none of our rooms have the actual wall space to install the doors on, but I would have made it work. Dang it, past me! Wonder if the hubs is looking for a new honey-do project… hmmm!
