While in London, I had my very own Rachel Zoe moment. As my husband and I walked Portobello Market, Notting Hill’s fabulous Saturday street fair, I channeled my inner Rachel Zoe. Not being one for new fur, I am a huge supporter of vintage. Let’s face it… the poor little buggers have been long gone so why waste them… it’s just another way of recycling. So, as we sauntered down the street, drinking a cup of tea from Humble Pie (what a freakin’ cute name for a pie shop) my eyes darted to a vintage fur booth. I could see my husband wince as I began to take a fur off the hanger as I handed him my cup of tea to hold. There I stood in a 1970′s mink fur stole, with pockets no less, and simply said three magic words, “Babe – I die!” A few women walking past, tried to buy the fur as I tried it on and kept asking if I was taking it. Jeez ladies – give a girl a chance! Poor Tim… he knew it was a lost cause from that very moment and handed over the Pounds to the nice gentleman who owned the booth. The rest of the morning, as we perused the booths, I felt so proud of my shopping conquest. And while I wish I could have bought so much more… I restrained myself and took some pictures to share with all of you! And if you have a chance to visit London, be sure to visit Portobello Market in Notting Hill on Saturday mornings. It is filled with fabulous antiques, yummy foods and small boutiques to tempt all of you.
