Piper’s Nursery

Posted On March 27th, 2012

Dear Piper,

Welcome Home!  Mommy has been dreaming of your nursery ever since the little plus sign appeared in my hands.  Sweet, soft and soothing was mommy’s wish… a place where Daddy and I could cuddle you with Maggie at our feet… reading sweet stories and singing lullabies.  Quickly a color of pallet of white and grey with touches of gold began to emerge with visions of baby animals watching over you as you dream.  I hope you love it as much as I do my sweet girl.

Crib and Dresser:  The New Traditionalist (tons of finishes to mix and match… we chose weathered maple and white)
Bookshelf:  Serena & Lily (we had it custom painted to match the white of the furniture)
Glider:  Restoration Hardware Baby & Child (there are so many shades of white, never knew how hard it would be to find a pure white fabric)
Bedding:  Pom Pom at Home
Artwork:  The Animal Print Shop
Drapery & Rods:  Restoration Hardware
Owl Lamp:  West Elm
Side Table:  West Elm
Chandelier:  Horchow
Giraffe Head:  Z Gallerie
Tree Coat Rack:  West Elm
Bassinet:  Restoration Hardware Child and Baby
Cowhide:  The Cowhide Store

Write more… Type less,
Lauren (aka Mommy)

  23. I am absolutely in love with this nursery! You mentioned above that the paint color you used is “Standard Gray” by Benjamin Moore… I couldn’t find that shade on their site. Do you happen to know if they still make that color? Also, what color is the crown? The combo is soft and gorgeous!

  27. Hi Heather! Yes, they still have Standard Gray… here’s the link http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/classicgray. It wasn’t as easy finding a gray as I had thought… a lot of the paint swatches had underlying blue and purple tones. We must have painted 10 swatches on the wall before finding the perfect one. Off the top of my head, I can’t seem to remember the what I used for the crown… I’ll look when I get home and let you know tomorrow :)

  29. Thank you so much for the reply– I agree that finding a “good gray” is hard work. I’ll look forward to your reply about the crown… the two go perfectly together. Thanks again!

  31. Just found your blog and this post via Pinterest. I love the nursery!! We just found out that we’re having a girl and I’ve decided to go with a pink and gray theme so this really inspired me!! I love the sheep rocking horse. Do you mind sharing where that is from? Thanks so much! :)

  32. Katie on May 4th, 2012 at 3:20 pm
  33. Hi Katie,
The sheep is from Pottery Barn Kids. They have two different kinds.. this is the “fluffier” one, which I think is only through the catalog. Thanks for reading.. you made my day!!!!

  45. I have always loved your blog and it came as no surprise when I clicked on an image via Pinterest and it took me here! I LOVE this nursery! I think it is by far my favorite “neutral” nursery so far. We are incorporating the same colors in our nursery, right down to a faint champagne color. I bought that owl lamp before I was even pregnant – the only pre-pregnancy purchase I made. I knew it was only a matter of time. So excited to find your nursery! Thanks for all the great inspiration! Emily
