Selling fine stationery through the years, I have come across many a customer completely baffled at the price of personalized stationery.  And while, I try to explain the process and the art that goes into their goods… I sometimes get blank stares and the comment, “it’s just paper.”  But it’s not “just paper”… time, talent and artistry go into each and every piece… just look at this video from Crane & Co demonstrating how they bevel and gild the edges of their stationery.  Besides the fact that is completely fascinating, you can’t deny the craftsmanship.  Now, do you think it’s “just paper”….
