Peach Mailbox

Anyone who loves cupcakes is a friend of mine!  So, when I received the most adorable hand made scented cupcake cards from Gamie at Peach Mailbox… I wanted to fly to California and give her a great big hug.  First of all, they are just about the cutest cards I’ve seen.  Secondly, her favorite cupcake is vanilla cake with Nutella frosting with a Ferrero Rocher chocolate candy on top… I think we are kindred spirits.  Thirdly, her fabulous cards smell like cupcakes… seriously they smell sooooo yummy…. GENIUS!  And last but not least, not only is Gamie’s line a perfect fit for my shop, but in the midst of speaking to her, I got to know an amazing woman who is talented and full of drive and I am so happy to call her a friend.

Gamie of Peach Mailbox is the true epitome of the American dream.  Her story is one of strength and determination, just another reason to love her.  Born in Bangkok, Thailand, Gamie moved to the U.S. in 1997 at the young age of 17 to learn English.  She arrived in Omaha, Nebraska, not even owning a coat (Thailand is always hot) and lived with a host family soaking up the culture and language in the States.  She went on to learn how to drive on our side of the road, got her first apartment and went to College… all while figuring out this new world on her own.  After college, Gamie moved to California to persue her graphic design career, found an amazing man, got married and is living happily ever after!  While Gamie is busy living her American Dream she also has a huge heart.  After learning that the Nebraska Humane Society is running out of dog toys… Gamie decided to take matters into her own hands and host a dog toy party, where she and her friends will make dog toys while sipping drinks and eating yummy foods and then send them off to Nebraska.  Sigh… don’t you just love it!

As you can probably tell, I am thrilled to feature Gamie’s workspace this week.  Working from her home office she is able to have her sweet dogs by her side and always has a movie playing in the background… just another reason why I knew we would be friends since I always have my television on.  Her favorites are are at the top of my list… Twilight, Julie and Julia, You’ve Got Mail and The Devil Wears Prada.  When she needs a change of scenery, she can walk to the cafe down the block or plop in one of her Fat Boy bean boy chairs and keep working.  Although, with a space like this, I could just sit and absorb the inspiration!

Write more… Type less,
Lauren

P.S.  Gamie has a fabulous blog… check it out!
