Separated at Birth – Sunshiny Storage

Posted On February 19th, 2010

I have a thing for luggage.  And I’m not talking about any regular ‘ole Samsonite either.  I mean a fabulous piece of luggage to travel in style with in the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.  Any time I see an old steamer trunk, a weekend bag or a vanity case… my heart goes pitter patter.  So, you can only imagine my delight when I first set eyes on J.Crew’s new luggage designs this past year… and you can only imagine my disappointment when I saw the $1600 price tag and all my hopes and dreams were shattered.  I knew I needed something to fix this whole in my life… something to fill the void that this pretty case of sunshiny dreams left upon me.  Then I saw these stylish compact boxes from West Elm and I thought… why not… it’s not luggage, but it will do… definitely separated at birth!

  1. I feel the same way about that J. Crew luggage! Of course, if I ever were to actually get it, I’d be super protective of it and would cry at the first bruise airline baggage handlers gave it.

  3. I agree. This is just unnecessarily expensive to me. It’s awfully cool, though.
