I have a long history with horses… yes, horses, you read it right!  While I love them, think they are beautiful and wouldn’t mind having a few grazing in my backyard… I’m a bit terrified of riding one.  Due to an unfortunate incident which has deeply scarred me, my heart always skips a beat when thinking of saddling up.  Now, my mother doesn’t even remember this incident, but it is so ingrained in my little brain, I will never forget it.  You see, I was put on the back of a horse with my cousin (who shall remain nameless… you know who you are) and SHE TRIED TO PUSH ME OFF.  At the age of seven, this was really traumatic… holding on for dear life seeing the ground get closer and closer as I screamed bloody murder.  Never the less, a knight in shining armor came to my rescue and saved me before I landed face first.  I will admit the horse wasn’t moving at the time… and it may have been a pony, but to this day I’m fearful of getting into the saddle.

Somehow, after all of this, I’m still so intrigued by anything equestrian.  And the spring/summer collection from John Galliano for Christian Dior has only gotten my mouth watering more for something, anything equestrian.  Who knows… maybe it will inspire me to take up horse back riding or… maybe I can just buy a few things and pretend!
