Sugar Paper

Posted On July 27th, 2009

I’m a bit like Monica on Friends.  I always want to be “the hostess.”   Whether it’s a birthday party for a friend or an event for my stationery boutique, Rock Paper Scissors, I am always excited to bake a little something and hang some decorations.  As you can imagine, any excuse to plan a little shindig works for me.  So the fact that Rock Paper Scissors is one of a select few to sell Sugar Paper’s new line of stationery was my perfect “in” for planning a little something for the month of July.  So… out went the amazing letterpress invitations, in went the cupcake batter to the oven and whala, I had myself a party.

On Saturday, July 17th, customers were able to mingle with pink champagne and tasty cupcakes while perusing all the goods from Sugar Paper.  The paper was surrounded with vases filled with marshmallows (yes, I had to separate all the colored ones by hand… yikes), fluffy paper pom poms and beautiful flowers (designed by my dear friend Pauline from Greenhouse Floral).  I wish I could take credit for the yummy cupcakes, but all I did was follow a recipe from the famous Billy’s Bakery in New York City.  If you are looking for delicious vanilla cupcakes, this is the recipe for you… super easy and super fast!

Lauren
