I’m not sure when it started, but I have always been a bit of a germ-a-phobe. As far back as I can remember… I had rules to live by in my germ free world! I’m a true believer in hand sanitizer (always have one in my purse and glove compartment), opening restroom doors with a paper towel and never ever sitting on a public toilet. That’s right folks… there is no 5 second rule in my house. You drop it… you throw it out. Although my husband always says what I don’t know won’t hurt me… this is when I plug my ears and quietly sing… la la la la la la!
As you can imagine, this whole H1N1 – swine flue hoopla has put me in a bit of a tizzy. Sure, I may not be wearing a mask out in public (trust me – if people wouldn’t stare, I would) or locking myself in a bubble but, I am taking care of myself (like running in the opposite direction when I hear someone cough). It’s times like this that I go by the old wise tale… an apple a day keeps the doctor away. And whether or not it’s true… who knows… but I’m not taking any chances!
